1. Celebrate your most important relationship – the one you have with yourself!
The relationship you have with yourself will be your longest relationship in life, so it’s important to treat yourself well.
Stay mindful of how you are treating your body. Show your body respect and fuel it with great meal choices today, go easy on the unnecessary snacking, drink lots of water and move your body with some exercise or stretching!
If you are not spending Valentine’s Day with others, make a plan around what reenergizes you. Speak positive words to yourself, write in your journal, only engage in activities that keep you on a positive trajectory.
2. Invest in all your relationships.
Make the day about gratitude where the people in your life feel your appreciation. Valentine’s Day is a day for love, but not just romantic love.
Make it about what you can give, not receive. Send Valentine’s Day cards or messages of love and respect to your family and friends. Whether it’s an act of kindness or service to a stranger, small gifts of love to your nieces and nephews, or maybe bake cookies for a neighbor..everyone appreciates being seen by others.
3. Seek support if necessary.
If you are really struggling this Valentine’s Day, speak to a trusted family member, friend or therapist, and get the help you need. Please don’t think you are alone or no one can relate or understand..communication about what is happening in your mind is vital for Complete Wellness.
Consider turning off social media. We love to see family and friends happy, but consider avoiding social media for Valentine’s Day. It can be difficult to see others having something you want. Take time to focus on what’s really important this holiday.
Have a healthy and happy Valentine’s Day!
